Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare Review
Title: Clockwork Angel
Author: Cassandra Clare
Age Group: Teen/Young Adult
Genre: Fantasy
Series: The Infernal Devices, book one
Star Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
The bottom line: Just as beautiful as The Mortal Instruments, I loved Clockwork Angel, a steampunk fantasy--Jem and Tessa, especially!
Tessa Gray is trapped--being trained by a pair of warlocks--for a mysterious man named The Magister. She is rescued by the dark, angry Will Herondale, and is taken to the Institute, where she must find the answers to her existence, as well as help a group of Shadowhunters--who later become her friends--stop a power-hungry man from taking over the city of London.
What I enjoyed:
-Tessa
-Jem
-Will, for the most part
-Sophie
-Charlotte and Henry
-The mystery of Tessa's existence--I can't wait to read Clockwork Princess!
-The way that though the Infernal Devices is different from The Mortal Instruments, it still does Clare's worldbuilding great justice
-The steampunk feel of it all
-Magnus
What I didn't enjoy:
-Jessamine
-Mortmain
-Nate
I loved Clockwork Angel and can't wait to read Clockwork Princess! Definitely recommended for fans of steampunk, fantasy, and of course, The Mortal Instruments. Beautiful! Next on deck: Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare!
