Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini Review

Title: Starcrossed
Author: Josephine Angelini
Age Group: Teen/Young Adult
Genre: Romance/Fantasy
Series: Starcrossed, book one
Star Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
The bottom line: Despite some slight similarities to Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Angelini creates a new Greek mythology-based trilogy with plenty of action and romance.

Helen Hamilton is different, and she's known that all her life. But she doesn't know just how different until the mysterious Delos family comes to Nantucket. Once she meets the huge, loving Greek family, she realizes that she and one of the boys are doomed to love and lose one another.

What I enjoyed:
-Helen
-Claire
-The Delos family
-The use of Greek mythology to establish part of the story
-The forbidden love--it just killed me!
-The villains of the novel--Can't wait to see more of them in Dreamless and Goddess
-The powers that were tied into the mythology
-Matt

What I didn't like much:
-Daphne
-The similarities to Percy Jackson and the Olympians--that was instinctively what I thought of when I first starting reading it
-Zach and Gretchen

If you guys are looking for a romance novel with a fantasy tied into it and are willing to overlook the flaws, Starcrossed will be perfect for you! Next on deck: Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers! (Note: Many of the books that come in line next are on loan for the library, so it may change: Sorry for the inconvenience!)
