Embrace by Jessica Shirvington Review

Title: Embrace
Author: Jessica Shirvington
Age Group: Teen/Young Adult
Genre: Fantasy/Romance
Series: The Violet Eden Chapters, book one
Star Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
The bottom line: Romantic, original, fun, and full of action, I loved Embrace! I can't wait for the sequel! Anyone looking for a different take on an angel novel should run--not walk--run!--to the nearest bookstore for it!

Violet Eden wants nothing more than to tell her best friend, Linc, that she has deeper feelings for him. They've trained together, and they know everything about each other--that is, until Violet realizes that he's hiding something from her, something big. Then she meets Phoenix, a bad-boy hottie who also knows more than he's telling. Violet's life changes forever as she delves deeper into her past.. A past that may consume her and all she loves, if she isn't careful..

What I enjoyed:
-Violet's narration of the novel, as well as Violet herself--she is a strong heroine that I enjoyed, though she is flawed and beautifully, lovingly rendered
-Lincoln
-Phoenix
-The love triangle that spans the novel and I suspect is going further throughout the series
-The original angel lore that was easily explained and followed--I loved it!
-Griffin
-Onyx and Joel
-Steph
-Magda
-The cliffhanger ending--I'm dying for more already!

What I didn't enjoy:
-At times, Linc and Phoenix's constant pissing contests got on my nerves

I loved Embrace and I can't wait for the next one--easily one of my favorites of all time! Next on deck: Scorch by Gina Damico!
